Fortune Dragon at golbat — chasing big wins in dragon fire
Fortune Dragon by PG Soft is a video slot that blends dragon mythology with golden symbols to create a distinct experience. With a maximum RTP of 96.74% and a free spins round, the game is available to play directly at golbat.
What kind of slot is Fortune Dragon?
Fortune Dragon is a 5-reel, 4-row video slot developed by PG Soft. It has 50 paylines in total, meaning each spin gives you 50 different combinations to win on. The screen is filled with symbols from Chinese mythology — dragons, jade stones, gold coins, and flames.
This game falls in the medium-to-high volatility range — meaning small wins do not come frequently, but when they do, the amounts can be significant. The dragon itself acts as the wild symbol, substituting for other symbols to help complete winning combinations.
In golbat's slots section, you will find many other PG Soft games alongside Fortune Dragon. What sets Fortune Dragon apart is its tiered free spins system, where landing specific scatter symbols starts a bonus round with a growing multiplier.
How spins work — from bet to bonus
Before each spin, you set the bet amount. In Fortune Dragon, the bet is based on the total number of paylines, so the "total bet" figure shown at the bottom of the screen is what you spend per spin. Starting with a smaller bet while you get familiar with the game is the sensible approach.
After the reels spin, a win is counted when three or more identical symbols land in a row from left to right on a payline. The wild dragon symbol can take the place of any regular symbol, which increases your chances of winning.
The bonus round starts when a set number of scatter symbols land on the reels at the same time. Generally, three or more scatters activate the free spins round. During this round, the multiplier can increase step by step, meaning a single spin could return a large amount. If additional scatters land during the bonus round, the free spins retrigger.

Who is this game suited for?
Fortune Dragon is mainly for players who enjoy playing patiently and are willing to wait for the occasional big win opportunity. Since the game is medium-to-high volatility, you can play for an extended time with smaller bets.
On the budget side, it is best to set aside a fixed amount per session. If you start with ৳500, keep each spin's bet low enough to allow at least 50 to 100 spins. This gives the bonus round a better chance to appear.
Volatility in plain terms: Low-volatility slots pay out frequently but in smaller amounts. High-volatility games may go a long time without a win, but when they do pay, the amount tends to be larger. Fortune Dragon is the second type — so keep in mind that a dry run is normal before you start a session.
For session length, 30 minutes to one hour is a reasonable amount. Playing longer than that can affect your decision-making.
Suitable player profile at a glance
- Comfortable with medium-to-high risk
- Patient enough to wait for the bonus round
- Enjoys dragon and Asian themes
- Can play within a limited budget
Fortune Dragon's special features and reward structure
The most notable aspect of Fortune Dragon is its tiered multiplier system. During the bonus round, the multiplier increases with each free spin — meaning spins toward the end can return significantly more.
The game's maximum payout is quite high, consistent with PG Soft's other Fortune series games. The premium symbols are the dragon's head, dragon's claw, jade ornament, and gold coin. Lower-value symbols are coloured gemstones.
The wild symbol can only appear on reels 2 through 5, not on reel 1 — something many players do not notice at first. Scatter symbols can appear on any reel and are not tied to paylines, so they count regardless of their position.
Wild Dragon
Appears on reels 2–5, substitutes for all regular symbols.
Reels 2–5Scatter Symbol
3 on any reel starts the free spins round; retrigger is possible.
Free Spins TriggerMultiplier
Increases with each spin during the bonus round, reaching its peak on the final spins.
Progressive MultiUseful tips to know before you play
- Start in demo mode: Fortune Dragon's demo version is available at golbat. Play it for a while before putting in real money to understand the reel layout and how the bonus triggers.
- Set a session budget: Before each session, decide the maximum amount you are willing to spend. When you reach that limit, end the session — even if things are going well.
- Follow a stop-limit: Also set a win target in advance. For example, stop when you have doubled your session budget. This helps you hold onto any profit.
- Keep your bet size steady: Do not raise your bet out of frustration during a dry run. Due to the volatility, reaching the bonus round can take many spins.
- Take breaks: Focus drops during long sessions. A five-minute break every 30 minutes is a healthy habit.
Common misconceptions and the reality
"If you haven't won in a long time, the next spin is more likely to win."
This is completely false. Every spin is independent and controlled by a random number generator (RNG). The result of a previous spin has no effect on the next one. The idea that a slot is "due to pay" is one of the most dangerous myths in slot gaming.
"You should increase your bet to recover losses."
Chasing losses is a harmful habit. Raising your bet does not guarantee you will recover what you lost — it actually increases the risk of losing more, faster. Stop when you reach your session budget.
"Playing at a certain time or day gives you a better chance of winning."
The time or day does not affect the RNG. RTP is a long-term average based on millions of spins. Your results in a single session can differ significantly from that long-term average.
Principles of responsible play
- Play for entertainment, not as a source of income
- Do not expect to get back money you have lost
- Do not risk more than you can afford

21+ onlyHow Fortune Dragon stands apart from other slots
golbat's slots section has a range of video slots — from low-volatility fruit themes to Megaways mechanics games. Fortune Dragon stands out among them for a few reasons:
First, it is a fixed payline game (50 lines), not Megaways — so you always know how many paylines are active on each spin. In Megaways games, the number of paylines changes depending on how many symbols appear on each reel.
Second, Fortune Dragon's bonus mechanics are relatively straightforward — there is no complex cascade or tumble system. This makes it easier for new players to follow.
Third, compared to other games in PG Soft's Fortune series such as Fortune Tiger or Fortune Rabbit, Fortune Dragon's multiplier system is a bit more aggressive, which tends to appeal to players who prefer higher volatility.
Another popular dragon-themed game is Dragon Tiger Luck, which is a card-based game rather than a slot — so the two offer completely different experiences.
